Uzabase Sri Lanka is the Colombo-based research and development unit of Uzabase, Inc., a Tokyo-headquartered provider of business intelligence platforms (notably Speeda, Speeda Edge and NewsPicks) that serve clients worldwide.
The Sri Lanka office was founded in 2016 with just 7 employees, and has since grown significantly. The Colombo office now includes multiple functions:

Mifnaz Jawahar
Group Executive Officer (Content)
Mifnaz is the founder of the Sri Lanka office and a pivotal figure in Uzabase's global content strategy. A CFA charterholder with extensive finance experience, she started the Colombo research center in 2016 and grew it from 7 analysts to over 50 within a few years.
She now serves as Executive Officer and Chief Content Officer for Speeda Edge, overseeing global content teams. Based in Sri Lanka, she ensures the research output from Colombo aligns with global standards and product needs.
Thilan Sampath
Country Head, Sri Lanka
Thilan is the Director and Country Head for Uzabase Sri Lanka, responsible for local operations and business administration. He acts as the primary liaison with corporate management in Japan for operational matters.
His role involves coordinating the various Colombo teams and ensuring they have the resources and direction needed to meet Uzabase's objectives. By being "on the ground" in Colombo and simultaneously part of Uzabase's broader management, he helps synchronize Sri Lanka's activities with group-wide goals.
